Fountain of Youth International School was established in 1998 as a sister institution of Patsy’s Crèche which was established in 1988 with a student population of five (5) by Madam Doris Agnes Abbey (Lt Col. Butler-Aggrey) mother of the current Principal/CEO of FOY, Mrs. Patience Nansi Sencherey. The crèche quickly developed a reputation for providing quality education for young children, and this positive image resulted in rapid increase in student numbers transforming the facility into an Infant School with facilities for Nursery and Kindergarten.

Due to its excellent reputation, the Infant School has seen steady growth over the thirty-five (35) years increasing student numbers to almost four hundred (400) and into a major feeder institution for leading prep schools in the community such as Ridge Church School, Morning Star School, Christ the King School, Soul Clinic International School, North Ridge Lyceum etc.

On the back of this success, stakeholders including the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) called for the expansion of the Infant School. The transition, apart from guaranteeing continuous education for its kindergarten graduates into Primary Schools, would further expand and enhance the reputation of the school and afford the school the opportunity to continue to serve the emerging middle class, civil servants and public sector workers due to the proximity of school to their places of work.

In summary, the Trustees of the school have been able to expand the present pre-school into a modern state-of-the-art early childhood development facility since 2014 by constructing a four (4) story school block in phases at its premises in Ringway Estates and have established Primary and JHS Departments with the Preschool feeding it. The JHS Department has successfully sat two B.E.C.E. and passed with distinction. The Trustees intend to acquire land around the fringes of Accra to further expand into a Secondary Department in the medium to long term.

The development funded by Societe General Bank Ghana (SG SSB) is a four story ultra-modern pre-school facility with all the modern facilities and equipment required for early childhood development. The trustees believe the competitive evolving world requires children brought up and exposed to the vigorous challenges of the new world through a Computer Adaptive and Applicative Education Teaching Model. In view of this teaching model, the school is seeking to eventually operate an all-inclusive Accredited British Curriculum school in addition to the GES Curriculum.

The vision of the school is to be recognised as one of the leading educational institutions in the country in the provision of top quality basic education. It is the philosophy of the school that every child when provided with favourable conditions to kick-start their schooling will grow to enjoy learning and aim at attaining responsible positions in society. In the near future we also intend catering for pupils with special needs or who need extra help by providing special needs coordinators who will have oversight responsibility for our special needs pupils.
